Program Date: Wed. February 3 at 7PM At the Charles A. Brown Ice House 56 River St., Sand Island, Bethlehem PA
Admission is Free
Join us as the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Sierra Club in partnership with the South Side Initiative explore the prospect of creating a biking and pedestrian bridge across the Lehigh River between Bethlehem’s North and South Sides. The program will feature a professional assessment of the options and challenges involved in the construction of such a bridge. The introductory discussion will also include a general overview of the benefits of urban pedestrian bridges and a perspective on a the bridge from representatives of the City of Bethlehem, Northampton County and the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.
Our educational program will support a public discussion of the community needs and benefits the bridge might offer. As a format for citizen input into the concept of a biking and pedestrian bridge, the program will record public commentary and conduct a written survey as a resource for future grant writing and a feasibility study.
